Often considered a traditional Chinese medicine, magnolia bark may offer a healthy option to decrease health problems brought on by menopause. Evidence published in the February 2011 issue of the journal "Minerva Ginecologica" suggests that one treatment including magnolia bark extract reduces typical symptoms, and offers particular benefits for sleeplessness, anxiety, depression and decreased libido. The study followed 634 women, slightly over half of whom received magnolia bark as a treatment over a four- to 12-week period.
